This document is only required for certain goods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The transport document (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aircanada.com\/cargo\/en\/shipping\/shipping-101\/#tab_air-waybills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Air Waybill<\/a>, Bill of Lading, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com\/ocean-support\/faq\/what-is-a-sea-waybill#:~:text=A%20Sea%20Waybill%20is%20a,format%20or%20soft%20copy%20format.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sea Waybill<\/a>, and so on)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your goods have entered through another EU country, transit documents (T1 or T2) may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other documents may be required. For more ease with these procedures, you may want to seek the help of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globexcourier.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">freight forwarder<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The cost of shipping from Canada to France<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of July 2021, the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.zonos.com\/guides\/de-minimis-values\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">de minimis value<\/a> (value of goods below which no duty or tax is collected by customs) that exempts imports into the EU from value added tax\/VAT has been removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means that all shipments entering the EU from anywhere in the world will be subject to customs duties and VAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insee.fr\/en\/metadonnees\/definition\/c1860\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CIF value<\/a> which includes the price of the item as well as the shipping and insurance costs will be used to determine the amount of VAT due.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that for goods valued at less than \u20ac150 (approximately 220 CAD), the import duty is waived, but the VAT (approximately 20%) still applies. It is therefore important to be aware of the changes to the import process before shipping your goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Failure to comply with customs regulations may result in delays, penalties, fines or seizures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paying the customs and clearance bills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payment of customs duties and taxes is an important consideration for any Canadian exporter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the Incoterm used, the exporter or importer may be responsible for the payment of customs duties and taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The &#8220;Single Administrative Document&#8221; form, used for a standard import, is attached to the customs agent&#8217;s invoice.
